July 2019

The normal summer slowdown in housing activity is underway.  There were just 6 closed sales in June, although an additional 11 homes were under contract and pending sale at the end of the month.  Only 35 homes are currently on the market in all of Spanish Wells.  Of the closed June sales, 4 were single family homes and 2 were condos.

Due to Jan and Jim’s travel plans for late July and early August, there will be no August 2019 Boeglin Team Report next month.  The statistics for July and August will be combined for the September Report.

Please be on the lookout for a special article about Spanish Wells.  Jim is writing a 4-part series entitled “The Community that Saved Itself” which describes the history of Spanish Wells over the past 40 years.  We expect that series to be available in late July and early August.  It will also be posted on the Boeglin Team websitewww.boeglinteam.com.

Spanish Wells Country Club, which is owned by all of the homeowners in the community, continues to move in a positive direction with new members and lots of well-attended events.  Tees on all 27 holes of the golf course are in the process of being restored this summer, and are expected to be ready for use in the fall.

The “re-roofing” of homes damaged by Hurricane Irma continues unabated.  Most of the Las Brisas condos are nearly finished with this project.  Single family homes all over the community are sporting new roofs thanks to Irma.

The Boeglin Team is in need of additional listings.  If you are considering the sale of your home, please contact one of us to explore the value and marketing process for your home.

Very few communities in Southwest Florida can match the location of Spanish Wells.  Almost all new home construction in our area is located inland, well away from the Gulf and its ocean breezes.  Our community is located close to several world-class beaches, I-75, and the airport.  We are surrounded by restaurants, grocery stores, drug stores, banks, storage facilities, medical and professional offices, golf courses, and retail shopping.  Three gates provide easy access to Bonita Beach Road and Old 41.
